Overview

Hotel BestWestern Monteverde Express is located only five blocks from the main plaza in historic San Miguel de Allende, a colonial jewel founded in 1542 by the Franciscan missionary, Fray Juan de San Miguel. Considered a national monument, the magnetism of this beautiful city with its colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, culture and traditions attracts artists and visitors from all over the world. 

The hotel partially occupies a 16th century house built by Don Santiago Dominguez de la Vega, a local merchant and landholder of the times. The colonial aspects of the New Spain are retained in the thick adobe walls of the façade, the centuries old fountain in the center courtyard and a wooden cart which had been buried and was unearthed during the restoration process.
