Historic Significance

The historic significance of the Hacienda del Parian lies in the intrinsic preservation of the traditions of Mexico and its culinary art through the creation of this restaurant as invisioned by a group of mexican businessmen.

On the grounds of the Hacienda are the remains of an Otomi Ceremonial Center of the Classic Era dating from 600 A.D. This archeological site in Ocoyoacac fell under the influence of Teotihuacan as reflected in the ceramics and figures discovered during excavation. It is believed that the site was abandoned around 750 A.D. towards the end of the Classic Period.
