Hacienda Galindo is surrounded by the charm of the mexican province. Visitors may wish to become acquianted with some of the nearby attractions. The colonial town of Bernal, meaning "place of water" in nahuatl is a very picturesque spot built beneath an imposing cliff. Tequisquiapan is a charming village of narrow streets and flowering plazas where regional handcrafts are produced and sold. The thermal waters are another of its many attractions. The historic center of the city of Queretaro has many magnificent examples of baroque architecture, lovely squares, cobblestone streets and restaurants. San Juan del Rio is the second most important city in the state. During the War of Independence the insurgent forces led by General Guadalupe Victoria, Anastasio Bustamante and General Jose Luis Quintanar departed from San Juan del Rio to march on the city of Queretaro. The picturesque colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, which is located about an hour away, is extremely artistict and has a great variety of handcrafts and restaurants. |
