Historic Significance
CASA DE SIERRA NEVADA is a mixture of several spanish colonial buildings dating from the 16th to the 18th Century and is located one and one-half blocks from the Cathedral and Zocalo or Main Square of San Miguel de Allende. The 32 rooms and suites are divided between 9 colonial mansions.
Casa del Parque was once a Fort during the 17th Century and later a Customs House catering to the Silver trade. Casa Principal was the former residence of San Miguel de Allende's Arch Bishop in 1580 and is an oficial historical landmark.
San Miguel de Allende once named San Miguel El Grande was one of the wealthiest towns in silver-rich new Spain.
