Dining in the Camino Real Puebla is an exquisite experience for the blending of ancient art and culinary delights whether in the restaurante El Convento or in the more informal Los Azulejos. Restaurante El Convento: Original frescoes adorn the 16th century walls of this intimate and elegant space with wooden floors on different levels. The sophisticated menu of Mexican Nouvelle Cuisine accompanied with a select bottle of wine make any occasion special. The restaurant is open from Monday through Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. Los Azulejos restaurant serves delicious regional dishes, many of which originated with the nuns in the convents. Here, diners can enjoy Mole Poblano, Chiles en Nogada and Rompope. Both the terrrace with its view of the central fountain and the interior with its authentic poblano kitchen are open from 7.00a.m. until 12:00 a.m. A breakfast buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday and there is live music starting at 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Bar Las Novicias has an exhibition of Talavera pieces from the private collection of the architect Rodolfo Jimenez Brito and an impressive 12th century hindu antique forms the bar and the wall behind it. Live music on the weekends adds to the pleasure of visitors. The bar is open from 12:00p.m. to 12. a.m. Sunday through Thursday and closes at 2.00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. |
