Overview

The past is woven with the comfort and luxury of the present in the Ex-Convent Santa Catalina, a historic jewel in the heart of the colonial city of Oaxaca, declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.

This oasis of serenity dating from the 16th century reflects the splendor of the Viceroy era with beautiful patios, graceful columns and arches along the corridors, works of art and treasured 400-year old frescoes.

Restoration of the property commenced in 1972, and today the Ex-Convent of Santa Catalina is known as the Camino Real Oaxaca, recipient of the AAA´s Four Diamond Award.
